| Some magic in finding myself in CP. My Father was born in Glasgow and I believe the town is named after Carleton Square there. My Mom was Irish born near Belfast and we all know about the Ballygiblin riots ! For some reason we named our first born a good Scotish name, Brodie and our second, Callie, a good Irish name. Both living here since birth. I am originally from Hamilton, it still amazes me I found my way here and I dont remember consciously choosing those names for our kids. | |||

| Thinking of going to Carleton Place next Saturday for our 27th wedding anniversary. It will be a full day trip, as I am an amateur photo buff. I was looking for restaurants in town and came upon your site by foutune. Wonderfully designed site that is easy to use. The historical photo section was especially interesting. P.S. | Really miss my ole home town and love looking at its history. Oh how it has grown since the days my grandfather Harold Hughes had his grocery store on Lake Avenue (his son and my dad Cam Hughes took over the store in the 70s) and his brother Lloyd Hughes had his grocery store on Moffatt Street. Haven't come across any old photographs of either in any archive. If anyone has any would love to see them. | |||

| just found my family heritage here at Carlton Place. My 3rd greatgrand parents have a grave stone in Riverside Park. Would love more history of the park. App entry my family owned 100 acres at west end of lake ave. west. Anyone know anything about log home at 400 lake ave west? i will be visiting your town in the spring! | |||
